NEW DELHI, July 24 — The India Meteorological Department issued a weather advisory on Friday forecasting an active spell of monsoon activity across northwestern India starting early next week. Regional monitoring centers indicated that widespread precipitation is anticipated across Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi between July 27 and July 30.
“Widespread rainfall with isolated heavy spells is expected across the northwestern plains as the monsoon system strengthens,” weather officials affirmed during the morning bulletin.
Administrative authorities in hilly neighbor states, including Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, were advised to maintain routine preparedness due to expected sustained showers. The weather agency asserted that regular updates would be provided to local disaster management teams to assist in regional traffic and travel planning.
