SIWAN, July 31 — To enhance accessibility and streamline citizen services, the Regional Passport Office, Patna, has announced a three-day Passport Seva Mobile Van Camp at the Collectorate Campus in Siwan, scheduled from August 23 to 25, 2026.
The initiative operates under the Ministry of External Affairs’ flagship “Passport Seva – Passport at Your Doorstep” program, which aims to bring essential services directly to residents while advancing responsive governance and public service ease.
The special outreach is being organized in close collaboration with the Siwan District Administration to support the Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK) in Siwan, which experiences a high volume of passport applications.
District Magistrate Vivek Ranjan Maitrey, IAS, and Regional Passport Officer Swadha Rizvi, IFS, will jointly inaugurate the facility on August 23, 2026.
Over the course of the three days, the mobile unit will accommodate 165 applicants, offering 55 appointment slots daily. Interested citizens must reserve their appointment online through the official Passport Seva Portal by choosing “Passport Seva Mobile Van Camp, Collectorate Campus– Siwan” as their designated location.
Officials maintain that applicants should ensure all mandatory documents are complete and attend the venue strictly according to their assigned time slots to ensure smooth processing. The revised passport application fee structure, which came into effect on July 1, 2026, will apply to all submissions made during the camp.
This event marks the 20th outreach drive conducted by the RPO Patna since April 2024. Across these district-level camps in Bihar, close to 2,700 passport applications have been processed to date. Siwan previously hosted two successful mobile van camps in December 2024 and January 2025, with rising local demand prompting this third deployment.
To expedite document verification, applicants are encouraged to utilize DigiLocker for digital submission. The passport authority also affirmed that citizens should rely solely on official communications, available via the official portal and Twitter handle (@RPOPatna), while cautioning the public against unauthorized agents or intermediaries.
