Amritsar, December 15, 2024 – Punjab Police conducted a major operation in Amritsar, leading to the arrest of eight suspects connected to U. Handler Dharma Sandhu, Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav announced on his X account.
Acting on secret intelligence, the operation resulted in significant drug and weapon seizures.
The operation, carried out by the Amritsar Police, recovered 4.5 kg of heroin, narcotic pills worth Rs 1.5 lakh, and a cache of firearms, including two Glock pistols (9mm), three pistols of varying calibers, one Zigana pistol (30 bore), and 16 live cartridges.
An FIR has been lodged under the Arms Act at NDPS and Gharinda police station, Amritsar. “The forward and backward links of this network are under investigation,” said Yadav.
Punjab Police reiterated its commitment to cracking down on drug and arms smuggling in the state.
