Chandigarh, November 21, 2024: Punjabi singer and rapper Shubh has been appointed as the Global Brand Ambassador for the United Nations Climate Advisory.
The announcement was made at the United Nations Climate Conference COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan. Shubh’s immense popularity, music, and dedicated fan base were key factors in his selection.
The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) recognizes Shubh’s ability to use his art and platform to raise awareness on pressing social issues, including climate change. According to the UNFCCC’s information management officer, Shubh’s global influence can engage diverse audiences and emphasize the importance of preserving climate-related history and knowledge.
“Shubh exemplifies the power of art in raising awareness and ensuring the preservation of essential climate information for future generations,” the officer stated. “His involvement aligns with the mission of the Digital Climate Library, which aims to safeguard valuable knowledge to inspire global action.”
In a statement to Billboard Canada, Shubh expressed his commitment to using his platform for positive change. “I hope to bring attention to this issue, share knowledge, and be part of a movement that ensures a better future for all, as well as sustainable living for all species on our planet,” he said.
