Mumbai, 30 October, 2024: Bollywood actor Salman Khan has allegedly received another death threat along with a demand for Rs 2 crore, prompting the Mumbai police to file an FIR against an unidentified individual, officials reported Wednesday.
According to police sources, the Mumbai traffic police received an anonymous message on Tuesday, threatening Khan’s life if the demanded sum was not paid. “The case has been registered, and investigations are underway,” said an official.
This latest threat follows a similar incident earlier in the month when a message demanding Rs 5 crore was sent to the Mumbai traffic police’s WhatsApp helpline, with the sender threatening harm to Khan. Police apprehended a man from Jamshedpur in connection with that threat.
In a related case, on Monday, the Mumbai police arrested a suspect in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, for allegedly issuing death threats to Khan and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Zeeshan Siddique.
Khan has faced multiple threats this year, notably from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. In April, suspected members of the gang reportedly fired shots outside his Bandra residence. In response to a separate plot uncovered by the Navi Mumbai police several months ago, security around the actor was heightened.
