Gurugram, May 3: A police constable was critically injured late Saturday night when motorcycle-borne assailants opened fire at the residence of Saurabh Yadav, an event coordinator for Haryanvi singer Fazilpuria. The incident occurred in Kadarpur village, where security had already been stationed following previous threats allegedly issued by gangster Deepak Nandal.
The attackers fired several rounds at the property while Yadav was on the first floor. Constable Kulvinder, who was part of the protective detail, sustained two gunshot wounds while attempting to intercept the gunmen. He remains in critical condition after being moved to Medanta Hospital for emergency treatment.
Investigations indicate that Yadav was the primary target due to his professional ties with Fazilpuria’s promotional activities. “We are examining CCTV footage from the nearby area and multiple teams have been formed,” a Gurugram Police spokesperson stated. They affirmed that the suspects fled the scene immediately after the shooting, prompting a large-scale manhunt.
The area has been cordoned off by law enforcement as forensic teams collect evidence. Officials maintained that the incident is being treated as an escalation of gang-related intimidation in the region. Police declared that efforts are currently focused on identifying the riders through local surveillance and tracking the motorcycle used in the assault.
