Gurugram, May 3: A man in Gurugram’s Wazirpur village allegedly murdered his wife and four young children by poisoning them before attempting to take his own life. The suspect, identified as Nazim, is currently hospitalized in critical condition with self-inflicted injuries following the discovery of the bodies on Saturday night.

The incident was uncovered at approximately 9 p.m. when Nazim’s brother, Zeeshan, visited the family’s rented first-floor apartment. Upon entering, he found 35-year-old Najma and her four children—Iqra, 12; Shifa, 8; Aaram, 8; and Khatija, 6—motionless on the floor. Police reported that the children showed visible signs of poisoning, while Nazim was found nearby in a semi-conscious state with slit wrists and a blood-stained knife.

Preliminary police investigations suggest that the violent outburst was the result of ongoing domestic conflict. Nazim, a native of Moradabad who operated a salon in Garhi Harsaru, reportedly had a history of frequent arguments with his wife. “A domestic dispute on Saturday evening triggered the violent outburst,” a police official stated, noting that the family had moved to the village six months ago.

Forensic teams and local law enforcement have secured the crime scene and sent the five bodies for post-mortem examinations to identify the specific poisonous substance used. While the woman and children were pronounced dead at the scene, authorities affirmed that Nazim was rushed for emergency medical treatment. A formal case is being registered as investigators continue to collect evidence and record statements from neighbors and relatives.
