Mumbai, 31 December 2024 – Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan expressed his excitement for the upcoming World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES), an initiative announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi aimed at transforming India into a global hub for creativity. The summit will be held for the first time between February 5 and February 9, 2025.
Modi shared the announcement in his monthly radio address, Mann Ki Baat, on Sunday, followed by Khan’s post on Monday night, resharing the video with his followers.
“WAVES is an occasion that champions and fosters creativity,” Khan wrote, adding, “I am excited for this film and entertainment world summit to be held in our country. It’s an event that celebrates our industry, acknowledges its role in the Indian economy, and reinforces its power as a global soft power.”
Several celebrities, including Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, and producers Ektaa Kapoor and Ritesh Sidhwani, have also praised the initiative.
