Lucknow, June 17: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued a strict warning against non-professional behavior on Wednesday, stating that making social media reels while on duty constitutes a serious breach of discipline. He urged the state’s security personnel to prioritize public service and absolute self-discipline above all else to maintain the force’s hard-earned reputation.
The directive came during an event at Lok Bhavan where the Chief Minister distributed official appointment letters to 930 newly selected Computer Operator (Grade-A) candidates under the state’s Mission Employment initiative. The ongoing modernization drive has successfully integrated these new recruits as technical experts to support advanced security operations across all districts.
“All of you are the carriers of Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’,” declared Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath while addressing the gathering of new personnel. “For this, self-discipline is the most important aspect and you must maintain it. There should be alertness towards duty and seriousness in every task. Making reels during duty is indiscipline.”
The administrative focus shifted heavily toward structural development and long-term security overhauls. Official records show that the police department completed the recruitment of 2.25 lakh personnel over the last nine years using completely objective merit boards that eliminated outside recommendations or administrative delays.
“In the last 9 years, UP Police has worked at a rapid pace to achieve the goal of good governance envisioned by Prime Minister Modi, becoming an example of model policing,” asserted the Chief Minister. “The newly selected personnel are going to have a major role as smart police personnel and digital warriors.”
Senior cabinet ministers and top police officials confirmed that infrastructure expansion remains a core priority for supporting the new workforce. The state has increased its operational forensic laboratories from four to twelve, established active cyber security police stations across all 75 districts, and constructed modern high-rise housing units to completely phase out dilapidated barracks.
