Patiala, 13 December 2024: A tragic incident occurred in Patiala’s Rajpura area, where one student lost his life, and two others sustained serious injuries after being hit by a train while making a reel on a railway track.
The three Class 11 students from the School of Eminence, Mahendraganj, were filming a video on the Pachis Pass bridge towards Ambala when a high-speed train struck them.
Gurpreet Singh, a resident of Gaavi village Dhakansu, died on the spot. His companions, Maninder Singh from Dhakansu and Harsh Sharma from Sham Nagar, Rajpura, were rushed to a private hospital in Rajpura for treatment.
School principal Poonam Kumari stated that the students were absent from school during the accident, and their parents were reportedly informed about their absence.
ASI Jagtar Singh, the investigating officer, confirmed that the body of the deceased was handed over to his family following a postmortem examination.
Authorities are investigating further details surrounding the incident.
