Gurdaspur, April 03: Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria will engage with Village Defence Committee (VDC) representatives during his padyatra, a foot march aimed at mobilizing public support against drug abuse, officials said. The march begins Thursday from Kartarpur Corridor at Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur district.
Gurdaspur Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dalwinderjit Singh reviewed preparations at Dera Baba Nanak and Fatehgarh Churian, confirming the march will start at 7 a.m. from Kartarpur Corridor and conclude at St. Francis School, Dera Baba Nanak.
“The march will see participation from youth, sportspersons, students, writers, intellectuals, and social organizations, who will take a pledge to make Punjab drug-free,” the DC said.
On the second day, the march will begin from Badesha Palace in Dhande village and end at SD College, Fatehgarh Churian. It will continue through Amritsar district from April 5 to 8.
