Iran-Israel Conflict: 110 Indian Students Evacuated via Armenia

Srinagar, June 17 — As tensions mount between Iran and Israel, evacuation efforts for Indian nationals have begun, with at least 110 Indian medical students from Urmia Medical University safely crossing into Armenia, the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) confirmed on Monday.

Nasir Khuehami, National Convenor of JKSA, said the students — including 90-95 from Kashmir — had successfully reached the Armenia border and were en route to Yerevan, the country’s capital. “We spoke to them and they are expected to reach Yerevan by 12 or 1 PM,” Khuehami said.

He added that the students are scheduled to fly from Armenia to Delhi tomorrow. “They will arrive at their designated location in the next two hours,” he said, reassuring anxious families back home.

The evacuation comes amid rapidly deteriorating security conditions in the region following heightened military and diplomatic hostilities between Iran and Israel. Indian authorities, in coordination with local support networks and diplomatic channels, have expedited safe passages for students from conflict-hit zones.

JKSA has been actively coordinating with the evacuated students and relevant agencies to ensure their safe return.
