Hyderabad, July 8 — A vacation turned tragic for a family of four from Hyderabad after they were killed in a road accident in the U.S. state of Texas on Monday.
Tejaswini, Sree Venkat, and their two children died instantly when their vehicle collided with a truck and burst into flames, according to U.S. authorities. The crash occurred as the family was driving back to Dallas from Atlanta, where they had visited relatives.
“All four occupants of the car were declared dead at the scene,” said a Texas state trooper involved in the investigation. Local emergency services responded quickly, but the severity of the fire left no chance of survival, officials added.
The family, based in Hyderabad, had been vacationing in Dallas. Arrangements are underway to repatriate their bodies to India for final rites, sources in the Indian consulate confirmed.
The incident has sent shockwaves through their community back home. Family members and friends in Hyderabad are in mourning, struggling to come to terms with the sudden loss.
