Chandigarh, Jan 19: Actor Parag Tyagi has sparked intense debate by claiming that “black magic” played a role in the death of his wife, television star Shefali Jariwala. Speaking on a podcast hosted by Paras Chhabra, Tyagi asserted that his convictions are rooted in personal intuition and specific incidents he witnessed prior to her passing in June 2025.

While official medical records state that Jariwala died of cardiac arrest, Tyagi rejected the idea that her death was a simple medical event. He suggested that external spiritual forces were at play, driven by the envy of others.

“Many people do not believe in these things, but I believe in them a lot,” Tyagi said during the interview. “Where there is God, there is also the devil. People are not sad about their own sorrows; they are unhappy with the happiness of others. I don’t just think it, I know someone has done this. I cannot say who, but someone definitely did it.”

The actor described a sense of unease that he felt on multiple occasions, noting that he sensed something was wrong twice. He mentioned that while they managed to overcome a previous instance, the circumstances this time felt significantly “heavier.”

Tyagi noted that his concerns grew during moments of prayer and religious devotion. He claimed to have observed physical and behavioral shifts in his wife that prompted him to increase the frequency of rituals at his home in an attempt to protect her.

“When I sit in devotion, I can feel it,” Tyagi directly said. “I used to understand just by touching her that something was wrong. This time it was too much, so I had increased the prayers. I know for 100 percent that someone did something.”

Shefali Jariwala became a household name following the success of the “Kaanta Laga” music video and maintained a steady career in reality television and scripted shows. Despite Tyagi’s recent allegations, authorities have not reported any evidence of supernatural factors or foul play related to the cardiac arrest cited in the official autopsy.
