Islamabad, March 3: Pakistani security forces killed 67 Afghan Taliban personnel during intensive overnight operations following a series of coordinated attacks along the southwestern border early Tuesday. Information Minister Attaullah Tarar affirmed that the military successfully repulsed incursions at 16 different locations as part of the ongoing “Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq.”
The latest updates indicate that 40 Afghan Taliban combatants were killed in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border region. The minister stated that while a physical assault was attempted at one site and fire raids occurred at 12 others, all were neutralized without loss of life on the Pakistani side in that sector. He maintained that follow-up operations are currently underway to secure the territory.
In Northern Balochistan, the conflict intensified as Afghan Taliban forces launched physical attacks across 16 locations in the Chaman, Noshki, and Qilla Saifullah districts. Tarar declared that 27 personnel from the opposing side were killed in these encounters, though he noted that one soldier from the Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan North was killed and five others were injured during the defense.
State-run PTV reported that the Pakistan armed forces also conducted a successful air operation in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province, resulting in the destruction of the Khogani base. Security sources asserted that the offensive will persist until all strategic objectives are met.
