Mansa, March 5: The Mansa police have arrested a man for the alleged murder of a real estate investor and his gardener at a farmhouse on Sheller Road. The accused, identified as Gurpreet Singh, alias Neola, was apprehended following a technical investigation into the deaths of Jasvir Kumar, 48, and Baldev Singh, 45.
The bodies of the victims were discovered at the farmhouse on Friday morning. Mansa SP (Investigation) Manmohan Singh Aulakh stated that the accused lived near the crime scene and was initially rounded up on suspicion. During questioning, the suspect reportedly confessed to the killings, citing a long-standing personal grudge against the realtor.
“The accused told the police during the investigation that his father had died about three years ago under mysterious circumstances and he suspected Kaka of being responsible for it,” SP Aulakh asserted.
The police official maintained that while the previous death of the suspect’s father had never been reported to the authorities, the accused had been nursing a grievance. According to the police, the gardener, Baldev Singh, was killed because he witnessed the attack on the real estate investor.
“He entered the farmhouse and killed Jasvir. He also killed Baldev as he was an eyewitness to the crime. The axe used to commit the crime has also been recovered,” the SP affirmed.
Multiple police teams were involved in the probe, utilizing scientific methods to link the suspect to the scene. The police declared that the recovery of the weapon has provided a significant lead in the ongoing judicial proceedings.
