Ludhiana, March 12: The School of Allied Health Sciences at CT University organized an extensive awareness program to mark World Kidney Day, focusing on preventive care and lifestyle modifications for students and staff. The initiative featured expert consultations and interactive challenges designed to educate the campus community on maintaining optimal renal function.

Nutritionist and lifestyle coach Dt. Anvita Chhatwal served as the keynote speaker, providing professional guidance on balanced dietary habits. She stated that adequate hydration and a significant reduction in salt intake are critical factors in preventing kidney-related disorders. The expert also noted that regular health screenings play a vital role in the early detection of potential issues.
“Simple lifestyle modifications can significantly reduce the risk of kidney diseases,” Dt. Chhatwal maintained during her address. She further guided participants on practical steps to integrate healthy choices into their daily routines.

The event included a “Hydration Challenge” to monitor water consumption and a specialized quiz to test student knowledge regarding kidney anatomy and risk factors. University leadership, including Registrar Sanjay Khanduri and Director Student Welfare Er. Davinder Singh, attended the session to support the health initiative.
Chancellor Sd. Charanjit Singh Channi affirmed that such programs are essential for fostering a health-conscious society among the youth. He declared that educating students about preventive healthcare is a priority for the institution. Pro Chancellor Dr. Manbir Singh also expressed his approval of the department’s efforts, asserting that proactive steps are necessary for long-term well-being.
