Chandigarh, April 25: Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini declared on Saturday that Haryana farmers will begin receiving QR code-based J-Forms directly through WhatsApp starting next week. Addressing a press conference in Chandigarh, Saini stated that this digital shift will simplify the process for farmers to secure loans and access essential services without administrative delays.

The Chief Minister affirmed that the technological overhaul will expand during the next procurement season with the launch of a dedicated ‘Kisan App.’ The application is designed to act as a comprehensive portal for payment status, crop verification, gate pass scheduling, and land records through the e-Kharid system. Saini maintained that these reforms are intended to ensure a faster and more efficient experience for the agricultural community.

“The procurement process has become more transparent and efficient due to digital reforms,” Saini asserted. He noted that the state has recorded a bumper wheat arrival of 81.48 lakh MT this season, marking a four-year high. The Chief Minister stated that wheat valued at Rs 21,044 crore has reached the markets, with nearly 97 percent of the produce undergoing biometric verification.

Saini also declared significant support measures for both farmers and traders. He affirmed that the commission for Arhtiyas has been raised from Rs 33.75 to Rs 55 per quintal. Furthermore, the government has relaxed quality norms for luster loss and shriveled grains to protect farmers following recent unseasonal rains and hailstorms.

To maintain transparency, the state has implemented geo-fencing at 416 mandis and 281 procurement centers. Saini stated that 932 CCTV cameras are currently monitoring activities to prevent fraudulent purchases. He maintained that over the past 11 years, the government has disbursed Rs 16,160 crore as compensation for crop losses, affirming a long-term commitment to rural welfare.
