BATALA, MAY 30 — Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav visited the family of fallen Assistant Sub-Inspector Joga Singh at their ancestral home in Ghaniye Ke Bangar village on Saturday to offer official condolences and reinforce the department’s commitment to securing legal accountability.
The 54-year-old officer, who began his career with the Punjab Police as a constable in 1989 and was recently attached to the Amritsar Commissionerate traffic enforcement wing, lost his life during an active operational duty deployment on May 24. Accompanied by regional administrative commanders, the state police chief met with Singh’s mother, wife, son, and daughter to assure them of immediate welfare distributions and comprehensive administrative backing from the state government.
“ASI Joga Singh made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty, exemplifying the highest traditions of Punjab Police through his courage, dedication, and selfless service,” Yadav stated during his visit to the Batala sector.
The director general maintained that specialized units are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal encounter, affirming that the individuals responsible for the assault will face full judicial prosecution. Yadav stated that the state security apparatus remains completely aligned with the bereaved household, ensuring that all standard financial compensation packages and institutional benefits are expedited without procedural delay.
