Ranchi, August 11: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren appealed for peace and open dialogue following intense student demonstrations over alleged irregularities in competitive recruitment examinations. Thousands of agitators marched toward the Jharkhand Assembly in Ranchi, breaking through police barricades near the complex before law enforcement deployed water cannons, tear gas, and lathi-charge to disperse the crowd. Addressing the situation, Chief Minister Hemant Soren affirmed that students possess every democratic right to raise their voices over genuine grievances and declared that his administration approaches their demands with utmost seriousness and sensitivity. He maintained that the youth represent the future of the state, reassuring candidates that no guilty party will be protected regardless of position or political influence.
