Panchkula, Oct 31: The family of a six-year-old Kindergarten student who was violently assaulted at Government Sanskriti Model School in Sector 20, Panchkula, has expressed deep outrage over administrative delays in securing urgent medical treatment for the child. Relatives stated that crucial time was lost when school staff initially transferred the unconscious girl to a private hospital before moving her to the Sector 6 Civil Hospital due to financial disputes regarding treatment costs.

According to the victim’s uncle, Fazil, the child received four stitches to her head and suffered a nasal fracture during the attack. He reported that after private facility arrangements fell through over fee contributions, the child was transferred to the Civil Hospital and subsequently referred to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, delaying care by more than half an hour.

Investigative details and CCTV footage revealed that the incident occurred on October 28 after an argument broke out between the victim and an eight-year-old Class 3 student. The boy allegedly misled the victim to a first-floor classroom, where he struck her with a brick and a flower pot before locking the room. Following a police complaint lodged by the girl’s father, the family is demanding strict administrative action against the school principal and teaching staff for safety and procedural failures.
