Mumbai, 24 November 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday declared that the recent elections reinforced the message of development and decisively rejected the politics of deception practiced by Congress and its allies.

Speaking at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters, Modi said voters had rejected divisive tactics, negative politics, and dynastic rule, particularly in Maharashtra and other states where bypolls were held.

“The people of Maharashtra have voted for stability, delivering a strong lesson to those who sought to create instability,” Modi stated. He emphasized that the outcome reflected the unity encapsulated in the BJP’s slogan, “Ek hain toh safe hain” (If we are united, we are safe).

Modi expressed gratitude to voters in Jharkhand as well, pledging that the BJP would intensify its efforts for the state’s development. “The message of unity has become a maha-mantra for the entire nation,” he said, crediting the party’s success to support from all sections of society, including Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and Other Backward Classes (OBCs).

Accusing the Congress of attempting to divide communities along caste and religious lines, Modi remarked, “The Congress thought spreading lies in the name of the Constitution could divide SCs, STs, and OBCs into small groups. This result is a clear rejection of that agenda.”

The Prime Minister criticized the opposition for prioritizing power over national interest. “People want stability and a nation-first approach. They do not trust those dreaming of ‘chair first’ instead of ‘nation first,’” he said. He claimed voters in Maharashtra assessed the Congress based on unfulfilled promises in states like Karnataka, Telangana, and Himachal Pradesh. “Neither their false promises nor their dangerous agendas worked here,” he added.

Addressing broader national issues, Modi reiterated that only the Constitution authored by B.R. Ambedkar would guide India. He dismissed attempts by Congress and its allies to revive Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. “No force in the world can bring back Article 370 and insult our Constitution,” he said.

Modi also accused the Congress and its partners of duplicity on issues such as the Waqf Board. “The Congress and its allies are double-faced, and the people have made them bite the dust,” he asserted, concluding that the verdict was a testament to the public’s rejection of divisive forces and its embrace of stability and development.
