Chandigarh, 6 January 2025: Alliance Air has introduced special flights between Chandigarh and Prayagraj to facilitate devotees traveling for the Mahakumbh Mela, which runs until February 26.
Details on Schedule and Fare:The airline will operate a 70-seater flight from Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport every Monday starting January 13.
Departing at 4:30 p.m., the flight will reach Prayagraj at 6:40 p.m. Return flights are scheduled every Wednesday, departing Prayagraj at 5:15 p.m. and landing in Chandigarh at 7:25 p.m. One-way fares are set at approximately ₹9,000.
Official Statement and Booking Options: “Special flights have been launched for Prayagraj, given the influx of devotees from across India,” said a senior airline official.
Passengers can book tickets via the airline’s website or online travel portals. Other cities connected through these flights include Delhi, Jaipur, Indore, Guwahati, and Kolkata.
Massive Crowd Expected: North Central Railway predicts a turnout of 40 crore pilgrims for the Mahakumbh, held every 12 years. Indian Railways plans to deploy 13,000 trains, including 3,000 special services, to accommodate the surge.
Global Promotion of Mahakumbh: In a bid to boost Uttar Pradesh’s global tourism footprint, the Yogi Adityanath government will promote Mahakumbh 2025 as a UNESCO-recognized cultural heritage at international tourism events in Spain and Germany, underscoring its spiritual and cultural significance.
