All Eight Police Blasts Solved: Punjab DGP

by The_unmuteenglish

Chandigarh, 30 Dec. 2024: Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav declared on Monday that all eight recent blast incidents targeting police installations across the state had been solved, with 14 suspects linked to Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) arrested.

In a video statement shared on social media, Yadav confirmed the arrests and said, “We have thwarted a new conspiracy orchestrated by Pakistan’s ISI and terror groups to destabilize Punjab.”

Modular Networks Behind Attacks

According to Yadav, five terrorist modules were responsible for the bombings. These networks were reportedly directed by handlers in Pakistan, the US, Canada, and Europe. Of the modules, three were affiliated with BKI, and two with KZF.

Weapons and contraband recovered include two AK-47 rifles, five grenades, two Glock pistols, and 1.04 kilograms of heroin, Yadav stated.

Timeline of the Blasts

A wave of eight attacks unfolded within a month, targeting police stations and check posts:

Nov 23: Ajnala police station – Improvised explosive device (1.5 kg) planted.

Nov 29: Gurbaksh Nagar, Amritsar – Explosion near abandoned police check post.

Dec 2: Ansaro police post, Nawanshahr – Grenade defused before detonation.

Dec 4: Majitha police station, Amritsar – Powerful grenade blast shattered station windows.

Dec 13: Ghania Ke Bangar police station, Batala – Grenade failed to explode.

Dec 17: Islamabad police station, Amritsar – 3 a.m. blast linked to BKI module and gangster Jeevan Fauji.

Dec 18 and Dec 20: Two grenade attacks at Bakshiwala and Wadala Bangar police posts in Kalanaur, Gurdaspur.

Grenades Tied to Historic Patterns

The Punjab Police noted that Austrian-made Arges grenades, often smuggled from Pakistan, were used in the blasts. These grenades were also linked to past major attacks, including the 1993 Mumbai bombings and the 2001 Parliament attack.

Investigations suggest the grenades may originate from Pakistan’s old military stock, with delivery facilitated by drones. While Chinese-made grenades dominate smuggling patterns today, periodic recovery of Arges grenades continues, the police added.

ISI and Terror Groups Linked

The DGP underlined Pakistan’s ISI as the central figure in the conspiracy, working with Pakistan-based terror outfits led by Harvinder Rinda (BKI) and Ranjit Singh Neeta (KZF). Punjab gangsters and drug smugglers reportedly collaborated with these groups, luring youth into carrying out attacks.

Foreign-based suspects identified in the operation include Happy Passian, Happy Jat, Gopi Ghanshampuria, Jeewan Fauji, and Gurdev Jassal, Yadav revealed.

“This collaborative effort by global handlers and local operatives sought to undermine peace in Punjab. We remain committed to neutralizing such threats,” Yadav stated.
