Amritsar, Sept 16: The Amritsar Counter Intelligence unit intercepted a major cross-border narcotics operation near Khasa, apprehending four individuals attempting to move a massive drug shipment. Officers seized 27 kilograms of heroin alongside a pistol during the targeted operation. Those taken into custody have been identified as Karan, a resident of Bhusse village, along with Samarpreet, Vishal, and Sunny, all hailing from Bhalla Colony.
Preliminary inquiries point toward a sophisticated smuggling network utilizing unmanned aerial vehicles to drop illicit contraband across the international border. Investigators noted a potential connection to a foreign operator operating out of Dubai, also named Karan, who reportedly coordinated the shipment arrivals. Law enforcement personnel maintain that efforts are ongoing to map out the broader infrastructure of the trafficking circuit and identify additional associates involved in the supply chain.
Current questioning of the detainees remains active, with authorities indicating that further seizures and related developments could emerge as the inquiry deepens.
