Ambala, 16 October, 2024: The Airawat Division of the Indian Army successfully completed its “Nako Cycle Expedition,” covering a distance of 620 km across Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, concluding in Ambala on Tuesday.
The expedition, which was flagged off by Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, General Officer Commanding of the Kharga Corps, began on September 26.
According to the military, a team of 45 cyclists from the Cavalry unit embarked on this journey, exploring stunning landscapes, culturally rich areas, and historic towns.
Over the course of 20 days, they traveled through Nako, Somling, Batal, Manali, Mandi, Bilaspur, and Ambala.
The expedition aimed to instill a sense of nationalism and adventure among youth while connecting with Indian Army veterans in the region.
Throughout their journey, the cyclists engaged with the local community, learned about regional culture, and raised awareness about the Indian Army.
They also participated in various environmental conservation activities along the way.
