Narnaul, July 15 — The Haryana State Pollution Control Board has initiated legal proceedings to attach the movable and immovable properties of 22 stone crushing units across Mahendragarh district. The strict administrative action follows the failure of these defaulting units to clear environmental compensation dues exceeding 1.78 crore rupees, which were levied for persistent violations of environmental safety guidelines. Executed under the direct mandates of the National Green Tribunal, the enforcement measure was launched after multiple recovery notices failed to secure compliance.

The unpaid dues represent a portion of a larger 5.39 crore rupees environmental penalty previously imposed on 88 stone crushing operations in the region for past ecological infractions. According to a status report submitted to the principal bench of the tribunal, the state board has successfully recovered 3.61 crore rupees from 67 compliant units, including one partial transaction. To recover the remaining balance from the final 22 operators, regulatory officials have officially escalated the recovery process under the provisions of the Land Revenue Act.

The regional office of the pollution board has formally routed the defaulting cases to the Mahendragarh district administration to facilitate the immediate collection of outstanding balances as arrears of land revenue. Regional Officer Vijay Chaudhary stated in the official report that this reference effectively clears the path for the attachment of properties belonging to the non-compliant owners. State authorities confirmed that none of the penalized stone crushing establishments had legally contested the initial financial assessments prepared by the specialized joint investigation committee.

The most recent recovery communications were dispatched to district administrators in May, specifically targeting Mahalaxmi Stone Crusher in Dholera for unpaid dues of 6.12 lakh rupees. The official records identify the largest individual defaulters in the district as Shree Balaji Stone Crusher in Jainpur with 16.06 lakh rupees, followed by Karni Maa Stone Crusher in Garhi at 14.81 lakh rupees, and Shree Ganesh Stone Crusher in Gangutana with an outstanding balance of 13.25 lakh rupees. Other major defaulting operations facing property attachments include Bajrang Bali Stone Crusher in Zerpur, Keshav Stone Crusher in Gangutana, and Bajrang Stone Crusher in Faizabad.
