NEW DELHI, May 12 — India stated on Tuesday that recent admissions by Chinese state media regarding technical support provided to Pakistan during Operation Sindoor corroborate existing intelligence and raise questions about Beijing’s international responsibility. Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal maintained that nations claiming to be responsible global actors must reflect on how shielding terrorist infrastructure impacts their reputation.
The comments follow reports from China’s state broadcaster, CCTV, which featured an engineer from the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) confirming on-site technical assistance to Pakistan during the four-day conflict in May 2025. Operation Sindoor was launched by India as a calibrated response to the Pahalgam terror attacks, specifically targeting state-sponsored militant facilities.
“We have seen these reports that corroborate what was known earlier,” Jaiswal affirmed during a press briefing. He stated that the operation was a precise and targeted strike aimed at dismantling infrastructure operating at the behest of Pakistan. The spokesperson noted that the confirmation of Chinese involvement—particularly involving technical support for fighter aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles—serves as a reminder of the challenges to regional security.
Jaiswal asserted that the support provided to protect such infrastructure is a matter for the international community to consider. He noted that the disclosure by Chinese media, which included details of AVIC engineers assisting the Pakistani air force’s fleet of J-10CE jets, validates India’s long-standing position regarding external support for cross-border terrorism.
“It is for nations who consider themselves responsible to reflect whether supporting attempts to protect terrorist infrastructure affects their reputation and standing,” Jaiswal declared. He affirmed that India remains committed to protecting its sovereignty and will continue to respond to threats against its citizens with precision and resolve.
