Mohali, March 25 — The Mohali Municipal Corporation (MC) has surpassed its revenue target of ₹160 crore for the 2024-25 financial year, collecting around ₹165 crore. Buoyed by this achievement, the civic body has raised its revenue goal to ₹211.19 crore for 2025-26.

MC officials credited the ₹5 crore surplus to higher collections from property tax, water tax, and other fees. The property tax target has now been increased to ₹55 crore, up from the current year’s ₹41 crore goal.

The corporation’s budget will be presented during the House meeting on March 27. To achieve its target, MC plans to generate ₹100 crore from Punjab municipal funds, ₹10 crore from electricity tax, ₹4.5 crore from excise duty, ₹1.5 crore from rent agreements, ₹27.5 crore from advertisement fees, and ₹5.8 crore from water tax, among other sources.

For the 2025-26 fiscal year, ₹129 crore has been earmarked for development works aimed at improving infrastructure and civic services while ensuring financial stability.
