Chandigarh, June 17: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann distributed appointment letters to 523 new recruits in the Health Department on Tuesday, announcing that the state administration has successfully delivered 67,563 government jobs over the past four years. The mass recruitment drive utilizes a completely transparent system designed to eliminate past practices of political influence and financial favoritism. This secure employment model has effectively reversed brain drain trends, encouraging local youth to build their careers within the state rather than seeking opportunities abroad.

The administrative focus on structural integrity has kept the entire recruitment process free from legal vulnerabilities, with no appointments challenged in court over the last four years. Sector-wise allocations show massive employment generation, led by School Education with 16,316 placements, Home Affairs with 14,723, and Power with 8,306, alongside significant additions to Local Government and Health services.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann affirmed that the systemic overhaul guarantees equal opportunity for all qualified applicants. “For decades, deserving youth were deprived of opportunities because jobs were distributed through recommendations and money power,” the Chief Minister declared. “We have completely changed this system. Today, government jobs are being provided purely on the basis of merit and eligibility. This is the reason that not even a single appointment made by our government has been challenged in court. The faith of youth in the recruitment process has been restored and every deserving candidate now knows that hard work and talent alone are sufficient to secure a government job.”

The latest intake directly strengthens the state’s public healthcare infrastructure, which features 990 operational Aam Aadmi Clinics providing free essential medicines and diagnostic tests. These facilities handle nearly 84,000 patients daily, maintaining a high satisfaction rate while the government prepares to establish another 400 clinics to expand rural medical access.

The Chief Minister asserted that the state’s secure examination system stands in sharp contrast to the continuous paper leaks occurring across the country. “For the first time in the history of the country, security forces are being deployed to conduct examinations like NEET,” the Chief Minister stated. “Across the country, dozens of examination papers have reportedly been leaked, shattering the aspirations of lakhs of young people. In Punjab, however, not even a single examination paper has leaked during the last four and a half years. We have restored the faith of our youth by ensuring transparency, accountability and fairness in the examination system.”

Welfare expansions continue parallel to the recruitment drives, including the implementation of the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, which extends up to 10 lakh rupees in annual cashless health coverage to families. Financial sustainability remains stable as state GST collections have tripled, allowing the administration to fund these public utilities, daytime agricultural power, and subsidized domestic electricity entirely from the state exchequer.
