Chandigarh, 10 November 2024: Chandigarh schools have launched a series of patriotic activities, introduced by Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria to foster patriotism, national pride and responsibility among students.
According to reports, the step will start from tomorrow, November 11, 2024, and will continue with regular events held across all schools in the city.
The activities, designed to instill a sense of unity and national duty, will highlight India’s rich cultural heritage and its independence struggle.
Schools have been provided with a list of suggested activities, including discussions on India’s fight for freedom, the significance of the Constitution, and major national events, which will be incorporated into school assemblies.
“Through these initiatives, we aim to instill a deeper sense of patriotism and unity in our students,” said an official statement from the UT Administration.
“We want the younger generation to understand and appreciate the sacrifices that have shaped our nation.”
In addition to discussions, students will engage in reciting patriotic songs, poems, and stories, reflecting core Indian values.
Quiz competitions, essay contests, and debates on patriotic themes will also be organized. Schools are encouraged to invite veterans or freedom fighters to share their experiences, as well as to screen patriotic films and documentaries.
Students will also be tasked with designing banners, logos, and slogans centered on patriotic themes, while learning to respect national symbols and adhere to the flag code.
The program will also include celebrations for significant national holidays and the birthdays of martyrs and freedom fighters.
This initiative is seen as a crucial step in nurturing a more cohesive and responsible future generation, deeply connected to India’s national identity and history.
