Chandigarh, 9 October, 2024: In a major shake-up within the Punjab Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Baltej Pannu, Media Advisor (Overseas) to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, along with Rajbir Singh, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the CM, and Manpreet Kaur, Director of Social Media, have been asked to resign from their positions.
Manpreet Kaur, who was appointed just a month ago to replace Naveen Wadhwa, who was removed last month, is among those affected.
Moreover, Onkar Singh, another OSD who managed personal tasks for CM Bhagwant Mann, has also been dismissed.
Manjit Singh, OSD for Media Relations and a long-time friend of the Chief Minister, was removed as well, according to fresh reports.
The media operations of the CMO have reportedly been taken over by Aadil Khan, a close associate of AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, who has been appointed as Special Media Advisor to the CM.
Khan is also overseeing advertisement strategies for the print and digital media within the Public Relations Department.
Reports show that control of the CMO may soon be transferred to Vijay Nair, another close aide of Kejriwal, who was arrested in connection with the Delhi excise scam.
