New Delhi, November 11: A high-level delegation from the Communist Party of Vietnam visited the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters on Monday, aiming to enhance economic and strategic relations between India and Vietnam.
The delegation, led by Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and a member of Vietnam’s 15th National Assembly, received a warm welcome from BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh, according to reports.
Welcoming the Vietnamese guests, Chugh provided insights into the BJP’s legacy, mentioning its longstanding role in India’s political landscape.
“This party is built on the patience, faith, and hard work of our ancestors,” he said.
“For us, this office holds the reverence of a temple.”
He traced the BJP’s roots back over 75 years, noting its pivotal contributions to India’s independence movement.
Chugh elaborated on the guiding philosophy of the BJP, stating, “Our core principle is ‘Nation First, Party Second, Self Last,’ with a mission focused on Antyodaya—reaching out to the individual at the last mile.”
He added that the party’s commitment to inclusivity is encapsulated in Prime Minister Modi’s motto of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, aur Sabka Prayas (Together with All, Development for All, Trust of All, Efforts by All).
The meeting also touched upon the enduring friendship between India and Vietnam with Chugh noting the shared cultural and traditional ties that have formed a robust bilateral relationship.
He mentioned India’s active support in Vietnam’s semiconductor development, underscoring the collaboration in emerging sectors.
Outlining the BJP’s organizational structure, Chugh showcased tools like the ‘NaMo App’ and the Prime Minister’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio program, both highly effective in reaching millions of citizens.
He pointed out the unprecedented scale of the BJP’s membership drive, which has added over 108 million members, making it the largest political party membership initiative globally.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang expressed his appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the BJP.
He noted the growing partnership between India and Vietnam, which has been enhanced under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
“This visit marks an important step in fostering deeper mutual understanding and collaboration,” he remarked.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to continue building on the historic ties between the two countries, focusing on common goals and values that align with both nations’ aspirations for development and prosperity.
