Deal Offers ₹4.5 Crore Per Match; Runs Till 2027

Chandigarh, September 16: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named Apollo Tyres as the new lead jersey sponsor for the Indian cricket team, after the exit of Dream11 with rhe contract lasting until 2027.

Sponsorship Fee: Approximately ₹4.5 crore per match. This is a substantial increase from what Dream11 was reportedly paying (~₹4 crore per match) under its sponsorship.

The sponsorship covers up to 130 matches during this period.

Other companies in the fray included Canva and JK Tyre. Birla Optus Paints was also reportedly interested, though it did not want to engage in the bidding process.

The BCCI’s invitation for Expression of Interest (EoI) was issued on September 2 as the bid submission deadline and decision occurred on September 16.

The EoI explicitly prohibited bids from companies in certain sectors, including real money gaming, betting, crypto, tobacco, certain sportswear/athleisure brands, banking/financial companies, non-alcoholic cold beverage firms, safety locks, insurance, and certain household appliance/fan makers.

Dream11’s contract ended prematurely following passage of the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, which prohibits real-money gaming and related advertising.

The new deal is considered one of the most lucrative sponsorships in Indian cricket, thanks to the team’s packed schedule and high visibility.
