Nanded Sahib, Jan 25: Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has pledged a total transformation of Punjab Bhavan in Nanded to provide ultra-modern facilities for pilgrims visiting Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib. The announcement came during the Chief Minister’s visit to the sacred site on Saturday, where he also proposed designated ‘Holy City’ status for the town.
The state government plans to work closely with Maharashtra officials to secure the special status, which Mann described as a necessary recognition of the town’s religious importance. He noted that similar designations already exist for other major Sikh centers like Amritsar and Anandpur Sahib, reflecting the government’s respect for the faith’s heritage.
“No stone will be left unturned to ensure every possible facility for the devotees visiting this sacred place,” Mann said during his visit.
The Chief Minister’s plan includes streamlining the availability of Verka products in Nanded to ensure pilgrims have access to quality resources. While inspecting the site and meeting with the shrine management, Mann expressed his admiration for the large turnout of devotees and reiterated the historical importance of the region.
“Nanded Sahib is a sacred place not only for Sikhs but for entire humanity, as Guru Gobind Singh spent a considerable part of his life on this holy land,” he said.
Mann tied these local improvements to the broader mission of the Punjab government to preserve and celebrate Sikh history. He mentioned the recent state-led observances for Guru Teg Bahadur’s martyrdom as evidence of this dedication. He said the holy city status for Nanded would be a befitting tribute to the life and sacrifice of Guru Gobind Singh.
“The Punjab Bhavan constructed by the Punjab government will be upgraded with ultra-modern facilities to facilitate devotees,” the Chief Minister said.
