Mohali, March 11: Rayat Bahra University hosted the “Nari Shakti Samman Ceremony” on Wednesday to recognize women who have achieved significant milestones in public service, fashion, and professional sectors. The event focused on the success of university graduates who recently cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examinations, positioning them as role models for the student body.
Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra expressed the institution’s pride in the awardees, stating that these women have broken significant barriers to achieve national recognition. He noted that their accomplishments are a direct result of discipline and a steadfast commitment to excellence. Bahra maintained that the university feels a deep sense of honor in seeing its students qualify for prestigious administrative roles.
The ceremony featured former Member of Parliament Avinash Rai Khanna as the Chief Guest, who praised the focus and sincerity of the honorees. Khanna stated that the success of these women in the UPSC exams is highly commendable and asserted that their future contributions would be vital to the development of society. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sanjay Kumar also spoke at the gathering, noting that consistent effort and determination are the primary drivers for turning academic dreams into reality.
Among those recognized were UPSC qualifiers Rakhi Chaudhary and Kritika Chaudhary, along with Chartered Accountant Jessika and Fashprism Miss India Aash Marwaha. Rakhi Chaudhary shared insights into balancing professional goals with family support, while Kritika Chaudhary stated that staying updated with current affairs was essential to her success. Aash Marwaha urged the students to maintain belief in their dreams despite resource constraints. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Dean of Student Welfare Simerjit Kaur, who affirmed the university’s ongoing support for women’s empowerment.
