MANESAR, APRIL 13 — The Gurugram Police Crime Branch has arrested six individuals in connection with a violent labor strike that resulted in arson and coordinated attacks on security forces on April 9. Authorities stated on Monday that the unrest was a calculated attempt to destabilize the Manesar Industrial Model Township, rather than a spontaneous worker demonstration.
Investigators have identified the suspects as Akash, Harish Chand, Pintu Kumar Yadav, Raju Singh, Shyambir, and Ajit Singh. Notably, the police affirmed that most of those detained are not employees of any local industrial units, suggesting the strike was manipulated by external strategists.
“WhatsApp chats have revealed a massive conspiracy,” a police spokesperson affirmed. “There was a deliberate plan to use petrol bombs to set companies on fire and incite workers toward extreme violence.”
The violence, which occurred across three company branches in Sector 7, has drawn comparisons to the 2012 Maruti Suzuki labor unrest. Officials noted that the agitators allegedly provoked laborers to target executives and police officers with lethal intent. During the clashes, several government vehicles were torched and private property was ransacked.
Law enforcement maintains that digital evidence confirms a systematic plot to sabotage industrial infrastructure. The Gurugram Police has issued a stern warning to the local workforce, urging them to remain vigilant against manipulation by non-workers seeking to spoil the regional atmosphere.
