CT University Hosts Expert Session to Commemorate World Liver Day

Ludhiana, April 20: The School of Allied and Healthcare at CT University marked World Liver Day by hosting an educational seminar focused on hepatic wellness and the critical need for organ donors. Dr. Gursagar, Chief Liver Transplant Surgeon at DMCH, served as the keynote speaker, providing technical insights into the prevention of liver disease and the procedural aspects of transplantation.

During the session, Dr. Gursagar stated that lifestyle choices play a fundamental role in maintaining long-term liver health. He declared that increasing the rate of organ donation is a noble necessity that requires immediate collective action from both faculty and the student body. The event concluded with a formal pledge, where attendees committed to becoming organ donors.

Pro Chancellor Dr. Manbir Singh affirmed that awareness programs are essential for bridging the current gap between organ demand and availability. He maintained that by educating the youth, the university aims to foster a generation of responsible citizens who prioritize humanitarian causes. He stated that students should act as ambassadors for health awareness within their communities.

Vice Chairman Harpreet Singh noted that the younger generation serves as a primary driver for social transformation. He asserted that campaigns of this nature are vital for inspiring meaningful action and promoting well-being. He declared that the university remains committed to supporting initiatives that align with humanitarian values and public health.

The seminar, attended by Chancellor S. Charanjit Singh Channi and other senior administrators, included an interactive segment where students sought clarity on transplant procedures. Officials maintained that such academic engagements are crucial for providing students with a practical understanding of healthcare challenges beyond the classroom.
