15 January 2024: Serbia’s Novak Djokovic shattered Roger Federer’s all-time Grand Slam match record during the Australian Open, marking another historic milestone in his illustrious career. The 24-time Grand Slam champion achieved this feat in his second-round victory against Portugal’s Jaime Faria, pushing his total Grand Slam matches to 430, surpassing Federer’s 429.
With 379 wins and a stellar 89.2% winning percentage in Grand Slams, Djokovic has further cemented his place as the most dominant player in tennis history. His win-loss record in Grand Slam tournaments now stands at 379-51.
The 37-year-old holds the record for the most Grand Slam singles titles, surpassing Rafael Nadal (22) and Federer (20), while also enjoying the longest reign at the top of the rankings. Djokovic has appeared in a record 37 Grand Slam finals and could reach an unprecedented 25 titles if he triumphs at this year’s Australian Open.
