Zirakpur, 23 February 2025 — A drug supplier was arrested in Zirakpur after a video surfaced in which two women accused him of refusing to return a gold chain they had mortgaged in exchange for heroin.

In the video, the women claimed they had already paid for the drugs, yet the supplier, identified as Manjit Singh, 32, of Lohgarh, Zirakpur, refused to return their gold chain. They also alleged that he had been supplying heroin in the area, prompting police to launch an investigation.

Superintendent of Police (Rural) Manpreet Singh said two teams, led by DSP Zirakpur Jaspinder Singh, were formed to probe the matter. Manjit was arrested, and police recovered 2 grams of heroin from his possession. He was booked under the NDPS Act at Zirakpur police station on Saturday.

Officials said Manjit had a prior drug-related case registered against him by City Kharar police in May 2021.

Despite admitting to purchasing heroin, the women did not approach the police directly. Instead, their video accusation led to the police action. When asked about action against them, a senior officer said efforts were underway to trace them.
