Families of Israeli Captives Condemn Delayed Cabinet Meeting

Tel Aviv, March 20 — Families of Israeli captives in Gaza criticized Israel’s Security Cabinet for delaying a planned meeting on the hostages’ fate, accusing the government of neglect and endangering their loved ones.

The Hostage Families Forum, representing the relatives, said they had repeatedly requested an urgent meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Cabinet for months. “Not a peep and not an answer,” the group said in a statement, accusing Netanyahu and his ministers of ignoring them while resuming an indiscriminate bombing campaign.

The Security Cabinet was set to convene this evening to discuss the captives but postponed the meeting to vote on the dismissal of Ronen Bar, head of the Shin Bet domestic security agency.

Netanyahu’s office confirmed the delay, stating the premier would hold a vote on Bar’s removal tonight due to a “lack of trust.”

Israeli Channel 12 reported that the meeting on the captives’ fate has been rescheduled for Saturday.
