Mahendragarh, July 14: The Haryana Government has granted formal approval for the establishment of a new government nursing college in Dongra Ahir village, located in Mahendragarh district. The decision aims to significantly strengthen the state’s rural healthcare infrastructure while simultaneously opening new professional avenues for young women in the region.
The Health Department is set to initiate the necessary administrative and procedural formalities immediately to operationalise the project. This development addresses a long-standing demand from the residents of Dongra Ahir and its adjoining areas, who have consistently advocated for localized professional training centers.
“The new institution will directly benefit young women from Dongra Ahir as well as dozens of villages across the district,” Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao declared. She affirmed that the nursing college will create vital opportunities for local youth to build stable careers in the expanding healthcare sector, enabling them to become financially independent.
By bringing quality professional education closer to rural communities, the administration expects to eliminate the logistical hurdles that previously forced students to travel to distant cities. Officials maintained that the institution will simultaneously improve the availability of trained medical staff in local clinics and hospitals over the coming years.
“The Health Department has been directed to expedite all further procedures so that the project can be implemented at the earliest,” the Health Minister asserted. She maintained that the project remains central to the state’s broader vision of social empowerment and rural development.
In a concurrent administrative update, the state government announced the promotion of 38 Medical Officers to the rank of Senior Medical Officer. The decision addresses a core, long-pending demand presented by the Haryana Civil Medical Services Association during a recent consultative meeting with leadership.
Representatives stated that the step will significantly boost the morale of government doctors working across the state. A department spokesperson declared that placing experienced clinicians into these key supervisory positions will streamline the administrative functioning and overall management of government hospitals and Community Health Centres throughout Haryana.
