Panchkula, July 13: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini initiated a state-wide cleanliness campaign from Panchkula on Monday morning to prepare for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to the state on July 17. The special initiative will run across all districts from July 13 to July 17, drawing participation from ministers, lawmakers, and local body representatives to promote the goals of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
The chief minister began the public drive by sweeping a market section in Sector 20, Panchkula, where he also gathered waste material to demonstrate the necessity of scientific garbage disposal. Alongside the sanitation work, a tree-planting activity was integrated into the morning event to support regional ecological conservation goals.
Elected leaders from various segments are scheduled to coordinate local clean-up drives over the next four days. “The special cleanliness campaign would continue across Haryana from July 13 to July 17 to take the message of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan to every household,” Saini stated while outlining the administrative schedule.
The upcoming central visit features the launch of eco-friendly transport infrastructure, including the debut of a hydrogen-powered train and the foundation laying for multiple regional development schemes. Saini maintained that hosting the event represents a significant milestone for the region, while also connecting the local plantation drive to the national ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ environmental project. “I have pledged to plant at least 100 saplings wherever I visit,” the chief minister asserted, urging families to plant trees in honor of their mothers.
