Chandigarh, June 11: A joint operation involving the Central Bureau of Investigation, the Ministry of External Affairs, and the Ministry of Home Affairs culminated in the extradition of fugitive gangster Vainket Garg from Georgia on Thursday. Haryana Police officials stated that Garg is a key accused in multiple serious offenses, spanning murder, attempted murder, extortion, organised crime syndicates, and violations involving illegal firearms.

A specialized escort team from the Haryana Police took formal custody of the accused on Georgian soil after international legal protocols were completed. The team safely transported Garg back to India, arriving at the Delhi airport on Thursday to face the outstanding charges against him.

The breakthrough came after the National Central Bureau-New Delhi intervened at the request of state law enforcement, securing an Interpol Red Notice to track the fugitive globally. International agencies successfully geo-located and arrested Garg within Georgia, allowing Indian authorities to present a formal extradition case that was ultimately approved by the Georgian government.

Garg had originally been apprehended during the early phases of the criminal investigation into his activities. Regrettably, after securing bail from a court of law, he chose to abscond and fled the country to escape active prosecution.

Officials maintained that the smooth execution of this extradition reflects a strong commitment to inter-agency cooperation and international legal partnerships in bringing fugitives to justice.
