AMRITSAR, June 9 — Amritsar Rural Police, acting in coordination with central intelligence agencies, arrested two suspects on Tuesday and recovered two hand grenades from their possession. Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav stated that initial interrogations indicate the arrested individuals were operating under the direct guidance of handlers based abroad.
The successful counter-terror interception has triggered extensive security alerts across the border belt. Police officials noted that the recovery of the military-grade explosives points toward a well-coordinated conspiracy aimed at disrupting peace and executing sabotage operations within the state.
The state police department is currently reviewing digital communication trails to map out the entire operational structure. Commenting on the strategic threat posed by the module, Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav noted:
“Preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused were in direct contact with handlers based abroad and were working on their instructions. The recovery of the hand grenades has raised concerns about a larger conspiracy hatched with the aim of disrupting law and order and public order in Punjab.”
An official case has been registered under appropriate statutory sections at the Gharinda police station. Security teams maintain that the network is part of a larger, cross-border apparatus designed to radicalize local youth and destabilize regional stability through targeted strikes.
Specialized technical wings of the state police are currently working alongside federal investigators to trace the exact route through which the explosives were smuggled into the country. Officials maintained that the operation highlights the heightened vigilance maintained by security apparatuses along the international border to neutralize organized crime and terrorist modules.
