Chandigarh, 15 January 2025: In an important step toward empowering youth, Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Minister Aman Arora announced that 265 girls have been trained for recruitment in the Army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), and Punjab Police through the Centre for Training and Employment of Punjab Youth (C-PYTE) camps across the state.
At the 5th Governing Council meeting of C-PYTE, Minister Arora revealed that a special camp for girls aspiring to join the armed forces will soon open at village Theh Kanjla in Kapurthala district, with an all-female staff.
Besides, a new C-PYTE camp will be established in Pathankot district to prepare youth for careers in the police, armed forces, and CAPFs, increasing employability.
Arora also directed officials to complete construction of three new C-PYTE camps in Asal Uttar (Tarn Taran), Kheri (Sangrur), and Borewal (Mansa) within the set timeframe.
Jaspreet Talwar, Principal Secretary of the Employment Generation, Skill Development, and Training Department, shared that 2,58,760 youth have been trained through C-PYTE camps, with 1,15,649 securing employment.
This year, training programs for drone pilots, security guards, and JCB/crane operators will also be launched.
Major General Rambir Singh Mann, Director General of C-PYTE, underlined that the camps not only focus on military and police training but also instill national unity, discipline, and social responsibility, aiming to make youth employable across various industries.
