New Delhi, 15 November 2024: In response to the escalating air pollution in Delhi, with the city’s Average Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching a hazardous 424, the Delhi government has revised working hours for government employees. The move aims to reduce traffic congestion and curb pollution levels.
According to the new schedule, the Municipal Corporation offices will operate from 8:30 am to 5 pm, Central Government offices will run from 9 am to 5:30 pm, and Delhi Government offices will function from 10 am to 6:30 pm. The staggered timings are intended to alleviate rush hour traffic and improve air quality.
Additionally, the Central Air Quality Management Commission has enforced GRAP-3 restrictions in the Delhi-NCR region due to severe pollution levels. As a precautionary measure, schools up to the 5th standard will remain closed until further notice, with online classes being conducted to ensure students’ safety.
