Ludhiana, July 16: Ludhiana’s robust small and medium business sector is playing a pivotal role in creating sustainable employment and curbing youth migration. Speaking at a state-run Industrial Training Institute, Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary stated that the local manufacturing ecosystem remains a primary engine for regional economic growth. The event marked the distribution of job letters to more than one thousand skilled graduates, signaling a strong link between technical education and local industries.
The recruitment drive was organized in partnership with local manufacturing units and private enterprises. Sharing the stage, Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Dr. Vikramjit Sahney affirmed that the primary objective of the program is to provide quality career opportunities within Punjab itself. He declared that ensuring stable livelihoods locally will naturally reduce the tendency among skilled young people to seek employment abroad.
The minister maintained that connecting trained students directly with regional enterprises is a model that can be replicated to strengthen the wider national economy. He asserted that local industries continue to show immense potential to absorb fresh talent. The graduating students received placement offers across various manufacturing, textile, and engineering sectors based in the industrial hub.
