Tehran, April 19: Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf declared on Saturday that Iran successfully utilized asymmetric warfare to counter the United States, despite Washington possessing superior military resources and combat experience. Speaking in a televised address, Ghalibaf stated that the outcome of recent tensions was determined by strategic planning rather than raw firepower or equipment.

The Iranian leader affirmed that while the United States holds greater conventional military strength, its operations are often undermined by fundamental errors in judgment. We are not stronger than the United States in military power, Ghalibaf stated, noting that American experience stems from a history of global aggression. He maintained that the opposing side failed to act correctly in terms of design and continues to make strategic miscalculations regarding the Iranian people.

Ghalibaf asserted that Iran only consented to the current ceasefire after its specific terms were met, declaring that external pressure failed to extract concessions. He declared that the nation’s armed forces remain in a state of high alert as diplomatic discussions continue. Even at this very moment, as we sit here, war could break out, the Speaker affirmed, declaring that Tehran maintains no trust in its adversaries.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps recently announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz to commercial shipping, citing a continued U.S. blockade of Iranian ports. Ghalibaf noted that he had previously cautioned international delegations that any movement of minesweepers in the strategic waterway would trigger a response. He stated that Iran retains control over the strait and possesses the capability to restrict traffic should pressure against the country persist.
